1st Grade Math

Our curriculum was chosen as it is closely aligned with the Washington State standards and the materials incorporate and reflect how kids learn best. There is a website designed for use at home to support what your child is learning in the classroom. Check it out at www.eduplace.com/mx2t. As we briefly played with the options, and it definitely takes some figuring out, we found some good ways to work with your child in their weak area. While "eGames" is more fun, the section titled "eManipulatives" will provide some specific practice in certain areas, ie. money.

This year we are focusing on fact fluency during our core math block. The goal is for each student to be able to complete 20 problems accurately in 1 minute with sums to 20.
